Make a Difference for Prospective Students
SOM receives applications from eager students around the world vying for a coveted spot in the new class. You, SOM’s distinguished alumni, can be part of this exciting process and are encouraged to assist the Admissions team in their recruiting efforts by acting as a Yale SOM representative at one of the many events. If you are unable to attend an event, there are still ways to volunteer during every step of the Admissions cycle. Practice your interview skills by meeting with multiple candidates and gauge their fit with the school.To add a more personal touch to the volunteer experience, you may wish to assist in contacting admitted students to welcome them to the SOM community. Become a Resource to Your Classmates
Besides the many great opportunities to work with current students, there are also numerous volunteer roles that will connect you to your SOM classmates. If you value the School and understand the need for alumni support, please consider becoming an Alumni Fund Class Agent. This position is an impactful way to help SOM’s annual giving efforts and truly makes a difference in the lives of current students. If fundraising isn’t you’re interest, there are still more ways to get involved and connect with your class. The SOM Alumni Relations Office works tirelessly to organize and execute alumni events around the world for you. Chapter Leaders are ambassadors of Yale SOM and facilitate engagement opportunities at the local level, while Class Secretaries serve as liaison for their entire class. There are two ways to get involved with reunions including Reunion Gift Campaign and Reunion Planning Committee. Based on varied interests, alumni can help contact classmates to boost alumni giving participation or you can work with the Alumni Relations Office to promote reunion, encourage peer attendance, and have a hand in individual program planning for your class. Community & Inclusion

Alumni from all industries, sectors, and interests are encouraged to sign up to be a mentor for current students. Students choose their mentor based on industry and can meet virtually or in-person during the Fall and Summer Programs. There is no set time commitment for this volunteer role. Are you looking to become more involved with the Global Network for Advanced Management? You might consider volunteering to coordinate a site visit at your corporate office for students from across the network. The Global Initiatives Office is always looking for alumni to host Global Network Week students during program weeks in October, March, and June.
