Help Wanted: Nominations to the SOM Alumni Advisory Board

March 6th, 2017

Every year, Yale SOM alumni are asked to make nominations of deserving alumni for service on the SOM Alumni Advisory Board, which represents our diverse alumni population and advocates for alumni issues at SOM. This year's nominations and election will follow procedures established by the Alumni Advisory Board last year to better serve alumni and the school.

The first step is nominating fellow alumni or yourself - we welcome self-nominations - as candidates for the board. Simply email: Please include a very brief statement why the nominee would be a valuable Board member.

Board members attend four meetings per year: two in-person and two via conference calls, plus ongoing committee work with board members and Alumni Relations, the CDO, Admissions, Global Chapters and other groups to engage alumni with the school, and to identify ways the school can better serve alumni needs.

As always, there's a deadline: Please submit your candidate nomination and statement by Friday, March 17. Once all the candidate nominations are received, the Board's Nominating Committee (Michael Barker '10 MBA/MFA, Rick Hunt '81 MPPM, Toddy Turrentine '80 MPPM) will interview candidates and create a slate of five candidates for board membership by mid-April. Alumni will vote on the slate as a whole shortly thereafter. The next in-person meeting of the full board will be held Friday, April 28 in New Haven.

We need your help. In fact, we need your active participation in this process. The SOM Alumni Advisory Board seeks a diverse slate of nominees from every class decade, region, career sector, and life stage. If you know someone who you would want to represent you, nominate them! Email today.
