Call for 2016-2017 Donaldson Fellows Nominations

September 26th, 2016

Dear Yale SOM Alumni,

I am requesting nominations for the fifth cohort of Donaldson Fellows.  Donaldson Fellows embody the School’s mission to educate leaders for business and society and are named to honor SOM’s founding dean, William H. Donaldson.

Donaldson Fellows are:

  • Purposeful leaders who pursue their work with integrity;
  • Leaders with an understanding across sectors—public, private, nonprofit, and entrepreneurial; and
  • Leaders who understand complexity within and among societies in an increasingly global world.

The Donaldson Fellows selected will take part in a one day residency at the School in April 2017 , which include activities such as meetings with students, participation in the events marking the 5th Anniversary of the Global Network for Advanced Management, and introduction at a dinner honoring the Fellows.

I encourage you to nominate yourself or fellow alumni by submitting a 1-2 page essay explaining how the nominee’s personal and professional accomplishments embody the School’s mission. The deadline for nominations is Sunday, October 23rd.  Please send your submission to Cindy Charlesworth, Associate Director of Alumni Relations, at

The Donaldson Fellows selection committee includes a few Yale SOM alumni, including a former Donaldson Fellow, as well as a Yale SOM student and members of the School’s leadership team.  In selecting the Donaldson Fellows, the committee will seek diversity of profile across many dimensions.  The Donaldson Fellows will be announced in December.

The Yale SOM website contains more information about the Donaldson Fellows Program, including previous winners.  If you have questions about the Program or nominating process, please contact Cindy Charlesworth.
We look forward to your submissions.

Best regards, Ted
