[Yale Explores] Cancelled - The 21st Century City and Society

June 23, 2020, 6:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. EDT

Between now and 2050, the world’s urban population will grow by an estimated 2.5 billion, constituting 66 percent of the world’s population. The successful management of such unprecedented growth requires an examination of the political institutions, economic and social relations, physical landscapes, and cultural frameworks that make up a city.

Sound urban development and public policy strategies will play a crucial role in protecting the world’s ecosystems, improving human health, mitigating the effects of climate change, fostering growth and innovation, reducing economic inequality, and providing essential public services in a fiscally responsible manner.

Join us for Yale Explores: The 21st Century City and Society as three of Yale’s stellar faculty members explore this topic from a variety of disciplines.
