In the fall of 2019, Yale SOM launched the Pozen-Commonwealth Fund Fellowship in Health Equity Leadership, a program that equips accomplished healthcare professionals with leadership skills and systemic thinking to improve healthcare access and outcomes for people of color and other vulnerable populations. The fellows attend Yale SOM’s MBA for Executives program with a focus on healthcare, while also receiving specialized mentoring and training.

Byrne of Poets & Quants discussed Charles’ journey from Guyana to a life in academia, his research on the economic aspects of inequality and racism, his own experiences as a person of color, and his thoughts on the role of higher education in promoting racial justice.
